Growing up in a family of architects, contractors and designers, it was no surprise when I knew from a very young age that I wanted to be an interior designer.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from Michigan State University, and have spent the last six years working as a kitchen and bath designer. This degree laid the groundwork for a deep love of design and aesthetics in general that allows me to fully immerse myself in your project. I have the knowledge and background in architectural systems, space planning and principle building practices. Being LEED-certified also allows me to put my environmental design, and building and safety code experience to good use.
I believe strongly in establishing a solid understanding of the needs, wants and problems to be solved at the beginning of the project, and I excel at utilizing that information to create beautiful, functional spaces for my clients. With a keen ability to consider each space in relation to the house as a whole, I am able to create spaces that flow from one room to the next, while still allowing each room to feel unique. I enjoy working with and getting to know each client as an individual and using that understanding to create a space that is truly their own.
As a designer with Acorn Kitchen and Bath, I am able to provide full installation services as well, running your whole project from start to finish. From consultation to designing and overseeing the entire installation process, giving life to your vision is what drives Andrea Richardson Design.
